format=flowed Content-Length: 1983 Status: RO Hello, All seven measurements (12698i-12702i) were lost for the same reasons yesterday's data were lost. The following error messages are in the RSR2 log at SPC-10: 02/009 20:11:08> EVT 30 WARNING: [1] vfy FAILED : COULD NOT CONFIGURE DIG DDC 02/009 20:11:09> EVT 10 CRITICAL: DDC 1PPS NOT PRESENT They are the same errors that were in the RSR log on DOY 008 when the data were also lost. The RSR does not complete verifying so the run and record "FAILED" because the RSR "MUST BE IN VFY STATE" or "MUST BE IN RUN STATE," which it wasn't. I connected to RSR2A at SPC-10 and configured the RSR manually. The RSR went into verify mode without any problems. I then wrote a script and watched it execute, and that also ran without any problems. The test data were recorded and played back as expected. Andre, Would you please help explain the above errors and what's causing the verify to fail. Data were lost on DOY 008 over DSS-25 and DOY 009 over DSS-15. RSR2A was used. The log files are RSR2A_log.008-201508 and RSR2A_log.009-201009. The above error messages are present in both log files. I haven't changed anything in the scripts (which have been working great for weeks), and the predicts are good, so it doesn't look like a script or predicts problem. The tests that I just ran worked OK, so I'm not sure whether the problems are gone or if they'll show up again. All MGS data collection are planned on RSR2, but if you need to run some tests, I can switch to RSR1 once I check that it's not being used. The next SPC-10 script is set to execute on RSR2A at 19:45 UTC on DOY 010 (Thu 11:45 a.m.), and another one is set to execute later (4 p.m.) on RSR2B. I will monitor both closely. Sami and Randy, Do you know if RSR1 is being used on DOY 010 (today) in case I need to switch from RSR2B? Thank you. The FSP subsystem contains a distribution amplifier which receives a 5MHz signal from the FTS. The distribution amp in turn sends the signal to all of the RSRs and the FSRs and FSC used for arraying. The RSRs, FSRs and FSC have all been experiencing problems with the 5MHz signals. So it appears that the source of the problem is either with the FTS 5MHz signal or the FSP distribution amplifier. I have a call in to the station to investigate a potential FTS problem and have asked Dave Allen to test the outputs of the distribution amp. The distribution amp test will disrupt a running RSR so we are going to work around the MGS schedule. If there are other activities please let me now. The current plan is to test the distribution amp tomorrow (1/11/02 ) morning. I'll let you know the results after the test is done.
