The last egress measurement in nominal mapping is 13470e on DOY 072. We will continue to get ingress measurements during Beta Supplement, but no egress measurements are planned unless we do egress campaigns as we did during the previous Beta Supplement period. I checked with Gene Brower whether the MCR that was submitted in March/April of 2000 (MCR 636) to do egress campaigns is still valid, and he said that since it was submitted during the prime mission, it is not valid for the extended mission so we will need to submit a new MCR. Our requirements in MCR 636 were 12 egress measurements during a single 48-hours period of continuous DSN coverage per month, and when feasible, another 12 egress measurements during a second 48-hours period of continuos (or near-continuous) DSN coverage. A coverage gap of up to 4 hours (2 egress measurements) during the second set is acceptable. The second set should begin no longer than 96 hours after the first set has ended. Egresses were collected using the Pitchover technique. The sooner a new MCR is submitted, the better are the chances of getting the DSN coverage that is needed to do the campaigns.
