I've been sick with the flu all week, so my work schedule was a mess. > We've gotten two more USO stability test data sets (I think, I don't > remember seeing an e-mail about it) I sent an email about 10 days ago saying that I'll plan on collecting data over the DSS-14 pass. I should've followed that up with an email confirming that I did. Sorry! > Data for 17845x looks better but I think Joe will probably want it > re-queried with a earlier end time by about two minutes. I tried to select times when the data were all 1-way (based on the SOE), and I took a quick look at the RSR log file to confirm that, but I could've been off. > Still haven't been able to query for: > > DSS 43 on day 064-065, all 5 measurements (17835i-17839i) > DSS 54 on day 065, all 2 measurements (17840i-17841i) Oops! Dick sent an email about that also, but I then read his message saying that data is flowing, which now I realize was sent earlier than the data lost message. It must be the medication! I'll look into this right after I send this email. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- From jtwicken@stanford.edu Mon Mar 10 04:26:57 2003 Received: from neptune.Stanford.EDU (neptune [171.64.90.149]) by magellan.stanford.edu (8.11.6/8.11.6) with ESMTP id h283VmZ03853; Fri, 7 Mar 2003 19:31:48 -0800 (PST) Received: from neptune.Stanford.EDU (joe@localhost) by neptune.Stanford.EDU (8.11.6/8.11.6) with ESMTP id h283WXN05750; Fri, 7 Mar 2003 19:32:33 -0800 (PST) Message-Id: <200303080332.h283WXN05750@neptune.Stanford.EDU> X-Authentication-Warning: neptune.Stanford.EDU: joe owned process doing -bs X-Mailer: exmh version 2.5 07/13/2001 with nmh-1.0.4 From: Joe Twicken To: Kerri Kusza 3-3669 cc: Dick Simpson 723-3525 Subject: Re: USO stability test data In-reply-to: Your message of "Fri, 07 Mar 2003 19:09:57 GMT." I took a look at your BRO FNDPOWER plot for the 30651434 recording; it appears to my eye that a suitable stop time would be 14:58 but I can't be 100% certain that the carrier dropout does not occur until after that. In any case, Dick said that he has software to trim the existing RSR file so it should not be necessary to submit another query. He should be able to create a new RSR (and label I suppose) by trimming the last four minutes off of this recording. He can also decide whether to record the new file in the MgsDB or not... When the script for this pass was originally generated, it only included ingress measurements, and then I manually added in the USO part. I forgot, however, to change the playback times. He should be able to create a new RSR (and label I suppose) by >trimming the last four minutes off of this recording. He can also decide >whether to record the new file in the MgsDB or not... I have trimmed the last 4 minutes from each file; it appears the same 'feature' occurred in each - about a minute during which the carrier level dropped by about 4 dB. The new files and labels are in /users/z20/rsimpson/RSR. When finished, please remove the files, labels, and the parent RSR directory (or send me a message, and I'll do it). There is no need to enter the truncated files in the data base (or save them). We can reconstruct them if needed. FYI - the program I use is ~rsimpson/ARCHIVE/file_edit (on mgrs, it is ~rsimpson/file_edit). It prompts you for the original file name, the new file name, the record length, the first record/byte you want to remove, and the last record/byte you want to remove. If, as in this case, you just want to remove all records from 1442 to the end, the fourth input is 1442 -1 and you don't need the fifth. You can remove as little as a byte or as much as everything except one byte. But the program will throw away a partial record at the end, so it's not perfect. These recordings did not include occultations, permitting the calculation of meaningful Allan deviations at integration times to approximately two minutes. Results from the processing of these recordings may be found in the tables below. The Allan deviation measurements at the longer integration times (32 seconds and greater) are generally worse than were observed in the 2003/036 one-way stability data at DSS 63. This is due in part to a slope in the frequency residuals of 35 mHz over each 24 minute recording. The residual slope in each recording may be attributable to a shortcoming in the orbit reconstructions. There was no attempt to compensate for HGA motion in the processing of these recordings. ****************************************************************************** Table 1 Estimated USO Frequency (Hz); T = 4.096 sec Orbit 17844 Orbit 17845 8423153057.150 8423153057.203 ****************************************************************************** Table 2 Nominal SNR (dB/Hz) Orbit 17844 Orbit 17845 42 43 ****************************************************************************** Table 3 Orbit 17844: 2003/065 12:36:00-13:00:00 (3065123X.RSR) T, sec Allan Deviation 0.512 9.9213e-13 1.024 3.8408e-13 2.048 1.9728e-13 4.096 1.2909e-13 8.192 1.3503e-13 32.768 2.0617e-13 131.072 3.0577e-13 Orbit 17845: 2003/065 14:34:00-14:58:00 (3065143X.RSR) T, sec Allan Deviation 0.512 9.1602e-13 1.024 3.7207e-13 2.048 1.9770e-13 4.096 1.3497e-13 8.192 1.3417e-13 32.768 1.6130e-13 131.072 3.3712e-13 ****************************************************************************** -------------------------------------------------------------------------- From jtwicken@stanford.edu Tue Mar 18 20:20:06 2003 Received: from nova.Stanford.EDU (nova [171.64.90.123]) by magellan.stanford.edu (8.11.6/8.11.6) with ESMTP id h2J4K5Z29748 for ; Tue, 18 Mar 2003 20:20:05 -0800 (PST) Received: from neptune.Stanford.EDU (neptune.Stanford.EDU [171.64.90.149]) by nova.Stanford.EDU (8.9.3/8.9.3) with ESMTP id UAA27340; Tue, 18 Mar 2003 20:21:09 -0800 (PST) Received: from neptune.Stanford.EDU (joe@localhost) by neptune.Stanford.EDU (8.11.6/8.11.6) with ESMTP id h2J4L9K21137; Tue, 18 Mar 2003 20:21:09 -0800 (PST) Message-Id: <200303190421.h2J4L9K21137@neptune.Stanford.EDU> X-Authentication-Warning: neptune.Stanford.EDU: joe owned process doing -bs X-Mailer: exmh version 2.5 07/13/2001 with nmh-1.0.4 From: Joe Twicken To: hinson@nova.stanford.edu, joe@nova.stanford.edu, rsimpson@nova.stanford.edu Subject: Re: RSR Notice: /users/z08/procRSR/30771600 In-reply-to: Your message of "Tue, 18 Mar 2003 08:26:11 PST." <200303181626.h2IGQBY05430@magellan.stanford.edu> References: <200303181626.h2IGQBY05430@magellan.stanford.edu> Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Date: Tue, 18 Mar 2003 20:21:09 -0800 Content-Length: 1625 Status: RO (1) There was no HGA motion compensation for these recordings >30650118.RSR p 43XR1IRXN101 43XR1IC1XX01 43XR1IF1S101 43XR1IS1T101 43XR1IS1T201 43XR1IS1T301 43XR1IS1T401 43XR1IS1T501 >30650315.RSR p 43XR1IRXN101 43XR1IC1XX01 43XR1IF1S101 43XR1IS1T101 43XR1IS1T201 43XR1IS1T301 43XR1IS1T401 43XR1IS1T501 >30650513.RSR p 54XR1IRXN101 54XR1IC1XX01 54XR1IF1S101 54XR1IS1T101 54XR1IS1T201 54XR1IS1T301 54XR1IS1T401 54XR1IS1T501 >30650711.RSR p 54XR1IRXN101 54XR1IC1XX01 54XR1IF1S101 54XR1IS1T101 54XR1IS1T201 54XR1IS1T301 54XR1IS1T401 54XR1IS1T501 >30651305.RSR p 14XR1IRXN101 14XR1IC1XX01 14XR1IF1S101 14XR1IS1T101 14XR1IS1T201 14XR1IS1T301 14XR1IS1T401 14XR1IS1T501 >30651502.RSR p 14XR1IRXN101 14XR1IC1XX01 14XR1IF1S101 14XR1IS1T101 14XR1IS1T201 14XR1IS1T301 14XR1IS1T401 14XR1IS1T501 >3065150C.RSR p 43XR1IRXN101 43XR1IC1XX01 43XR1IF1S101 43XR1IS1T101 43XR1IS1T201 43XR1IS1T301 43XR1IS1T401 43XR1IS1T501 >30651700.RSR p 14XR1IRXN101 14XR1IC1XX01 14XR1IF1S101 14XR1IS1T101 14XR1IS1T201 14XR1IS1T301 14XR1IS1T401 14XR1IS1T501 >3065170A.RSR p 43XR1IRXN101 43XR1IC1XX01 43XR1IF1S101 43XR1IS1T101 43XR1IS1T201 43XR1IS1T301 43XR1IS1T401 43XR1IS1T501 >30651858.RSR p 14XR1IRXN101 14XR1IC1XX01 14XR1IF1S101 14XR1IS1T101 14XR1IS1T201 14XR1IS1T301 14XR1IS1T401 14XR1IS1T501 >3065185I.RSR p 43XR1IRXN101 43XR1IC1XX01 43XR1IF1S101 43XR1IS1T101 43XR1IS1T201 43XR1IS1T301 43XR1IS1T401 43XR1IS1T501 >30652056.RSR p 43XR1IRXN101 43XR1IC1XX01 43XR1IF1S101 43XR1IS1T101 43XR1IS1T201 43XR1IS1T301 43XR1IS1T401 43XR1IS1T501 >30652252.RSR p 43XR1IRXN101 43XR1IC1XX01 43XR1IF1S101 43XR1IS1T101 43XR1IS1T201 43XR1IS1T301 43XR1IS1T401 43XR1IS1T501
