That's basically what Pauline asked for. You may be asked what the team thinks about implementing the new subreflector procedure during all MGS passes, and not just the MSPA passes, which is currently the case. > >The DKF (DSN Keyword File) will continue to show that the subreflector > >should be fixed at 45 degrees ... And later, this will be built into the > sequence so the manual override is not necessary? I can see some > opportunities for errors. According to Sal, the subreflector is fixed manually during our measurements, whether at 45 degrees or not. The sequencing team will edit their software to reflect the new changes (fix subreflector at 45 during non-MSPA, and current position during MSPA), but it will still be done manually at the stations. I think it may be confusing to the stations that they have to follow different procedures for fixing the subreflector, but things should be clear after the sequencing team is done making the necessary changes to their software and the Sequence of Events (and the DSN Keyword File) show the correct information. > >The MGS NOPE put together an OPD (Operational Directive) to inform > >the DSN stations of the change in procedure ... > > It would be nice if the procedure to notify Aseel when the ground > antenna is swapped were moving along with equal speed. That procedure is now in place, and I've already gotten a couple of calls from the Ops Chiefs!
