Here's what happened: DR# M101658 Outage Period: 2003 161 05:36 - 2003 161 07:37 (121 minutes) Description: MGS 2way downlink lost all of a sudden at 0536z. Unable to detect any trace of a signal either 1way or 2way. Antenna pointing and maser gain were discarded as possible sources of the anomaly (DCO4 was in lock with M01O downlink on this MSPA support). DC06 was added to the connection with same results. During MGS nominal non-downlink period, DC01 and DC06 were reconfigured and proper lock achieved with M01O downlink. At 0737z 1way lock took place while 2way was expected. Later on, at 0748z downlink was 2way late-acquired (uplink ramp predicts were in use). New set of predicts was requested and received, but there was no chance to use them as, during reception, 2way lock with the initial set was acquired as stated above. Non SOE-specified spacecraft events are suspected.
