I'm not sure I know/understand enough of what's happened but the result of it (and subsequent actions) is that the s/c sends down either science data or engineering data (including attitude and sa/hga gimbals) but not both at the same time. Since science is more important, only one orbit per day (to be more precise, only a big part of one orbit) is "given" to the engineering downlink. It's my understanding that because of the MRO launch scheduled for this week the project will not take any further actions to recover until the next week. Then something will be done to put normal data downlink back on track and some additional actions will be taken to fully recover by the beginning of September. I'll ask LMA to look into re-making CKs for s/c and sa but I think it's best to wait until MRO is flying and MGS is out of this obscure configuration. Would it be OK for you to wait till then?
