I don't recall any others where the occultation was missed or the baseline was
substantially impacted. It is just odd to see recordings that are less than
full length. For example in this report there is also one that stops at
2005/343-04:01:25 (35 seconds early), one that starts at 2005/347-16:26:08
(8 seconds late) and one that starts at 2005/347-18:24:03 (3 seconds late).

  OK.  Then that's probably good enough.

  JPL has been suffering from some serious connectivity problems
  during the past week.  One hypothesis is that Danny requests
  normal times but (for unknown reasons) the message doesn't
  get to the station with enough time and the recording begins
  late.  We see 1 second delays a lot; but 8 or 25 seconds seems
  extreme.

  During the MEX bistatic radar last Friday night, we lost the
  connections between JPL and 4 RSR's over about an hour.
  Fortunately, the RSRs were running (and the experiment was
  mostly over); but I left Danny and Gene Goltz scratching their
  heads about how to kill the jobs without driving out to the
  station themselves.  Two days later, the connection had been
  restored and the RSR's were under control; but Gene said he
  still didn't know how that had been done.  Today one of the
  main routers at JPL was rebooted in hopes that would cure
  some of the remaining problems.  I happened to be logged in
  to rsops2 looking for those records beyond 31 when the reboot
  occurred.

  I suspect we're seeing some of the outer symptoms of this
  larger problem.  Except in cases where we get next to nothing,
  it's probably better not to rock the boat.
