Meet-me number = 818-393-4544. For those of you calling in from outside of work, you may use the following "800" number. But please don't distribute this number to others outside of this mailing list. To call in from home (or outside of work) do the following: dial 800-367-5754 - wait for a dial tone - dial 575 - wait for a dial tone - dial 34544. *** We are continuing to test in the lab various failure scenarios. A fault was injected into SAM yesterday that resulted in the SAP being positioned on the sun - but approximately 90 degrees away from SAM in elevation. This replicates to some extent what might result from an encoder failure. Unfortunately, this places only one array on the sun during Sun-Stuck-Gimbal (SSG) and during Sun-Com-Pwr (SCP). The STL ran this case overnight. We want to see how and when SCP syncs up with eclipse egress. We are going to stop this run and "rewind" to the fault injection - and repeat. We may do this several times to observe the resulting SAP position in SSG. *** Future Commanding: 1. Hardware Commands to Select Bus-B (2x), followed by a software command to perform the swap. (These commands will be radiated on two consecutive orbits, twice per orbit.) - Scheduled for tonight starting ~ 19:00 MST. 2. In 5 orbits we will radiate Telecom commands that will alternate between command group 1 and command group 2. Command group 1 = turn the TWTA off, enable RF switch 3, select LG input to TWTA1, disable RF switch 3 & finally, turn the TWTA back on. Command group 2 = turn the TWTA off, enable RF switch 3, select LG input to TWTA2, disable RF switch 3 & finally, turn the TWTA back on. 3. Commands to turn various heaters off will also be included with the Telecom commanding on each orbit. NOTE: Items 1, 2 & 3 will be performed over the next three days. 4. Command MR on and see if MER receives the beacon. This is tentatively planned for next week around the Tuesday - Wednesday timeframe. *** Dale and Maria are working on the fault tree. All should review and provide comments back to Dale/Maria. *** MRO is still planning to image MGS in the Sunday/Monday timeframe. They are using their star tracker to "find" MGS - and then will use this information for precise pointing of the HiRise. *** Thanks. - Kyle Kyle Martin Lockheed Martin Space Exploration Systems Mission Operations - Systems/RTO Team Chief 303-977-6871 work 720-521-7535 pager Kyle.w.martin@lmco.com
