Commands were sent last Thursday to swap to BUS-B. Hardware and software commands to perform this task were sent on 2 consecutive orbits - with no observed results. Two groups of Telecom commands were then radiated over the weekend per Telecom's direction of alternating between the two groups for 5 orbits. The Telecom commanding basically consisted of first connecting the LGA to TWTA1 in command group 1 and then next connecting the LGA to TWTA2 in command group 2. Again, no signal was seen as a result of this commanding. A command file to turn off heaters was also interleaved with the other commanding. Upcoming Events/Items of Note: 1. MRO will attempt to image MGS with both the CTX and HiRise. The images are scheduled to be on the ground shortly after 12:00 MST. 2. MGS TAGUP at 15:00 MST today to discuss the images. Meet-me = 818-393-4544. 3. MR commands are being built to enable, turn on and command MR to mode 1 in preparation for a MER over flight in the Tuesday/Wednesday timeframe. Fault tree work continues. They sequenced each overflight to have a 10 minute pad on both ends, so the total duration is ~36-37 minutes. This should cover our Earth view period from approximately 12-13 minutes after occultation exit out to 49-50 minutes after occultation exit, which could potentially include a slew from Sun'Comm'Power to Sun'Stuck'Gimbal if we are in that configuration. The Tuesday overflight will begin around 11:00 AM PST / 12:00 PM MST and the data should be down on the ground sometime between 2:40 - 3:05 PM PST that afternoon (according to the latest ODY relay spreadsheet I could find). The Wednesday overflight will begin around 12:30 PM PST / 1:30 PM MST and the data from that one should be down on the ground sometime between 4:20 - 4:45 PM PST that afternoon. I believe the POB MR commands are in testing/review right now. It looks like the uplink windows for tomorrow morning are: 1100 - 1130 UTC ERT (4:00 - 4:30 AM MST) 1215 - 1327 UTC ERT (5:15 - 6:27 AM MST) 1413 - 1520 UTC ERT (7:13 - 8:20 AM MST) This will be our only opportunity to turn the MR on before the first overflight. We can also consider sending up the ON commands on Wednesday morning, in case the Tuesday ones do not get in and MER doesn't detect anything from MGS. The uplink windows for Wednesday turn-on would be: 1543 - 1655 UTC ERT (8:43 - 9:55 AM MST) 1741 - 1853 UTC ERT (10:41 - 11:53 AM MST) We'll have one uplink window on Wednesday after the overflight to send the MR turn-off commands, which would be: 2136 - 2249 UTC ERT (2:36 - 3:49 PM MST) We can also send the turn-off commands once or twice on Friday to make sure we get it off if it was turned on.
