DSN coverage is sporadic and our uplink opportunities are limited. Nevertheless, when we do have coverage - the DSN are instructed to actively "look" for MGS in both frequencies (channel 20 and 16). ** A meeting was held at JPL on Thursday (12/6) from 09:00-16:30PST to present spacecraft data and discuss fault scenarios with various folks from JPL. A basic timeline was presented along with initial observations. In addition, telecom signals were analyzed and fault scenarios/paths discussed. One fault was added to our fault tree - but the conclusion was that we have covered our bases pretty well. Several items came out of the meeting. Look for a follow up email on the specifics. Maria and I did discuss creating a common area that we can place documents, data, notes, etc. Stay tuned.... ** Commanding: 1. CMode Sun-Com-Pwr 45 degree incremental positioning. As of now, this commanding has started and will complete around Thursday of next week. 2. SMode Sun-Com-Pwr 45 degree incremental positioning. Paul is finishing up this command package and look for a Command Conference early next week. 3. SCP reboots. ** MEX is still scheduled to image MGS on Saturday. Distance is ~170km. There was some rumor that MRO would attempt to image MGS again with the CTX on Saturday. We were told this morning the decision was made to not do this image. ** FYI - Odyssey went into SMode early this morning. We will accommodate them with giving them our uplink when they need it. Yet, we will try and work a compromise to allow them to recover in a timely manner but also let us complete our planned commanding. ** Thanks to all for your continued support and hard work in all areas. - Kyle Kyle Martin Lockheed Martin Space Exploration Systems Mission Operations - Systems/RTO Team Chief 303-977-6871 work 720-521-7535 pager 303-977-7515 fax Kyle.w.martin@lmco.com
