That event also reset the Project's orbit number count to 1. The previous, partial orbit had been number 1683 since insertion in September 1997. Orbits will henceforth be counted from descending equator crossings (rather than periapsis). RST will begin a new archival raw data set effective this date. Engineering Data ================ Our query for channelized spacecraft engineering data was rejected by all three query servers. Data Control reports that data are in the system tagged by ERT between about 18h and 23h, but that the system shows nothing available for day 068 when the query is made by SCET. We are a little puzzled, since presumably the Spacecraft Team would be interested in SCET and all of our software has been using SCET since Launch. The bottom line, is that we currently have no way to monitor health of our spacecraft instrument in anything close to real time. We have submitted ISA Z50496. Open Loop Data ============== Data Collection --------------- We have transferred the following open loop data to Stanford: YYYY/DDD DSS DSP SAMP BW DSP BIT REC RECS RECS MAX START STOP RATE MODE RESN LEN MSSG SNR -------- --- -------- -------- ---- ---- ---- ---- ---- ----- ---- ----- 1999/068 45 18:26:35 18:45:00 5000 2000 2 12 1666 5526 0 57.0 1999/068 45 19:38:00 19:45:00 5000 2000 2 12 1666 2101 0 57.5 1999/068 45 20:22:00 20:30:00 5000 2000 2 12 1666 2401 0 56.8 1999/068 45 21:36:00 21:43:00 5000 2000 2 12 1666 2101 0 56.4 1999/068 54 23:33:00 23:40:00 5000 2000 2 12 1666 2101 0 56.1 Anomalies --------- We will be capturing (nominally) 6 occultations per day until the end of March. These will occur during the real-time DSN tracking passes while the spacecraft collects Mapping data in the Fixed HGA configuration. We will henceforth report only on occultations which fall within this capture "window". A SPA-R initialization failure prior to the first occultation delayed start of DSP recording. But the egress event was fully captured, and it contains a good surface echo. An unknown event 2-3 minutes into the recording left a transient ripple (frequency about 56 Hz) in the power spectrum. A similar ripple can be seen in the spectrum 2-3 minutes after the next egress (20:22:00). The last two in the list above were ingress occultations. Both show hints of surface echoes, the first we have seen from ingress events. Ingress echoes were masked during the TMO period by both uplink rampling and carrier suppression from telemetry). The egress occultation at 22:20:00 was lost when the DSP script failed.
