Maximum power levels in quick-look data are -23 dB, rather than the preferred -5 dB. Nonetheless, two recordings still show significant surface echoes in quick-look power spectra. First two recordings at DSS 15 show ragged baselines (+/-0.5 dB), possibly symptomatic of atmospheric absorption variations at relatively low elevation angles. There is a strong surface echo in data beginning 1999/133-07:43:00, the fourth such measurement from the same region on Mars' surface in as many tries.
