The egress occultation in data scheduled to start at 1999/362T15:31:00 was lost because of an operations error. Data collection began at 15:33:57, after egress had occurred. The egress occultation in data scheduled to start at 1999/362T17:29:00 was lost because the SPCSERVER went down. Data collection began at 17:31:45, after egress had occurred. The 7 occultations captured at DSS 25 suffer from random 0.7 dB changes in gain. This was first reported in HEA9351A.TXT. All 9 occultations captured at DSS 45 suffer from an unstable POCA. The POCA is apparently at the upper limit of its range for these observations. Both the prime POCA and its backup were used for these observations, with little difference in performance. Whether the data will be usable for science depends on whether the true POCA readings are captured in the header records. If so, the "steering" stage in our processing may be sufficient to recover the carrier signal frequency. Surface echoes can be seen in about a third of the occultations, including about half of those from DSS 45 with the unstable POCA. Trish Priest reported seeing some in real time on egress.
