Anomalies --------- Data beginning 2000/003T12:10:00 were lost when DSP predicts did not load. Data beginning 2000/003T14:41:00 have not been found. Two occultations were lost when the SPC 60 DSP was released to support Galileo's encounter with Europa. Start times were 2000/003T16:39:00 and 18:04:00. Not counting the rescheduling in favor of Galileo, the last 41 occultation opportunities have been anomaly free at the quick-look level. The hardware has worked properly, there have been no operations errors, the weather has cooperated, there have been no apparent activities on the spacecraft that would contaminate the occultation data, and the GDS has delivered the data without incident. We believe this is the longest such error-free string in our history. At the risk of jinxing the system, we note that the string is not necessarily over. Note that occultations at 2000/005-01:25:00 and 01:58:00 were captured at both DSS 25 and DSS 45. Since recordings at both stations were high-quality with comparable SNR, there is the possibility of processing data from pairs of antennas jointly. We discovered a Y2K problem (#6) in our quick-look processing. The program that parses data samples (prepmo) was incorrectly interpreting 2-digit dates in the ODR header as 1900. Quick-look plots were receiving the wrong time stamp. There appear to have been no other impacts. Joe Twicken has made the necessary corrections. We discovered two routines in our data base management software with Y2K problems (#7 and #8). In each case, the routine handled 2-digit years through "99" correctly but simply failed to work when the 2-digit year changed to "00". Since 4-digit years can also be used, Joe has converted those strings to include 4-digit years.
