PDS_VERSION_ID = PDS3 RECORD_TYPE = STREAM OBJECT = TEXT PUBLICATION_DATE = 2000-06-07 NOTE = "MGS RST Instrument Health Report HEA0159A.TXT" END_OBJECT = TEXT END Miscellaneous ============= There is no scheduled DSN coverage for MGS between 2000/159T01:55:00 and 2000/160T06:00:00. A DSS 65 pass originally scheduled was relinquished to the DS-1 mission to support a spacecraft emergency. Today is the last day Trish Priest will support MGS in an official capacity at JPL. She leaves for a new career at Microsoft at the end of the week, but has indicated she would like to stay on the e-mail list for a while. Although Aseel Anabtawi and Sami Asmar will be stepping in to fill the nominal roles held by Trish, it is fair to say that a large fraction of radio science success on MGS has been due to her personal commitment (beyond what is expected in official "roles") to ensuring that we obtained the maximum amount of high-quality data possible. Today is also the last day Nassim Hakim will be with us at Stanford. Although only with us since January, Nassim's careful handling of the daily data three days each week has been greatly appreciated. He will spend the summer in Lebanon this summer and return to Stanford as a sophomore next fall. Gaurav Misra also leaves this week, though he doesn't go far. Gaurav will be working nearby at Hewlett-Packard Laboratories. He began with us a year ago, first helping us to move to our new building, then supporting MGS full time on data questions. He is responsible for cleaning up many of our operations scripts. Gaurav has been helping with the MGS routine two days a week since classes resumed last fall. He will be a Stanford senior next year.
