Aside from the problems with DSS 15 hardware performance (see below), all seems to have gone well. To gain more on-line disk space, we are in the process of rearranging files in the magellan.stanford.edu:/users/z00 area. Old and/or infrequently used files may be moved off line to CD-R. Dave Hinson has generated 32 profiles of ionospheric electron density. A SIS has been drafted for this new special product, we are in the process of putting the files on our Web site, and we will be including these in our next CD-R volume of MGS RST reduced data. The inner spurs are approximately -32 dBc. For more details, see HEA0220A.TXT. Data from occultations 6349e, 6349i, and 6350e (DSS 15, start times 2000/221-18:26:00 through 20:33:00) have erratic level changes of up to 2 dB both with and without carrier present. The same behavior was seen in data from DSS 15 the previous day (see HEA0221A.TXT). Joe Twicken has done preliminary processing on one of these using a prediction SPK file; we see no striking frequency anomalies accompanying the amplitude changes.. Data from occultation 6354i (DSS 45, start time 2000/222-05:27:00) have +/-0.5 dB carrier level changes, probably from low elevation angle at the end of the pass.
