There were transmitter problems at DSS25, so they switched to DSS15 just before the third measurement. Therefore, 7473i-7476i were over DSS15. DR G06482 was written for transmitter problems at DSS25. DSN predicts were used for measurements 7473i and 7474i, and then RS predicts were generated and used (the RS predicts were ready before the 7474i measurement, but there were difficulties loading the predicts). Both 7475i and 7476i were lost due to DSP problems. A DSP reboot was requested after 7475i. The script started running for the last measurement, but the DSP suddenly went out of the link, and the station didn't know why. DR G06483 was written for the DSP going out of the link which resulted in loss of RS data. > > The companion data from DSS 43 (at least 7475i) seem > to be coming in OK. > More on DSS 43 data in the next email. -Aseel -------------------------------------------------------------------------- From aseel@godzilla.jpl.nasa.gov Wed Nov 8 17:36 PST 2000 Received: from godzilla.jpl.nasa.gov (godzilla.jpl.nasa.gov [137.78.177.120]) by magellan.stanford.edu (8.9.3/8.9.3) with ESMTP id RAA25453 for ; Wed, 8 Nov 2000 17:36:42 -0800 (PST) Received: from localhost (localhost [127.0.0.1]) by godzilla.jpl.nasa.gov (8.9.3/8.9.3) with SMTP id RAA29581; Wed, 8 Nov 2000 17:38:20 -0800 (PST) Message-Id: <200011090138.RAA29581@godzilla.jpl.nasa.gov> Date: Wed, 8 Nov 2000 17:38:20 -0800 (PST) From: Aseel Anabtawi Reply-To: Aseel Anabtawi Subject: 2000/313 at DSS 43 To: rsimpson@magellan.stanford.edu Cc: Sami.W.Asmar@jpl.nasa.gov MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-MD5: zW/EnljEpzpYtfg7yxRJ4Q== X-Mailer: dtmail 1.2.1 CDE Version 1.2.1 SunOS 5.6 sun4u sparc Content-Type: TEXT/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Length: 385 Status: RO Hi, We did not have a record of previous attenuation values for DSP2 at DSS43. Tom and Katherine continue to do more testing and have discovered that they can query the Real-Time TDS (from the RNS stream) from the SOPC sites without data corruption, but they cannot query the CDR TDS (post pass 100% data return) from the SOPC sites (They can query it locally). It is a puzzle, but we have several options we are considering and your response determines which one we use: 1. Point the SOPCs to the less reliable R/T TDS (but I believe they want every last frame, so this is a last option) 2. Set up the CDR TDS on different hardware (we suspect that may be a problem since the TDSs are on different hardware) 3. Continue to work on the current CDR TDS and try to get it fixed by tomorrow (if not, we revert to item 2) -Gene -------------------------------------------------------------------------- From Eugene.E.Brower@jpl.nasa.gov Thu Nov 9 12:45 PST 2000 Received: from eis-msg-012.jpl.nasa.gov (eis-msg-012.jpl.nasa.gov [137.78.160.40]) by magellan.stanford.edu (8.9.3/8.9.3) with ESMTP id MAA12981 for ; Thu, 9 Nov 2000 12:45:27 -0800 (PST) Received: from [137.78.144.23] (prt264-275.jpl.nasa.gov [137.78.144.23]) by eis-msg-012.jpl.nasa.gov (8.9.3/8.9.3) with ESMTP id MAA11272; Thu, 9 Nov 2000 12:46:48 -0800 (PST) Mime-Version: 1.0 X-Sender: ebrower@pop.jpl.nasa.gov Message-Id: Date: Thu, 9 Nov 2000 12:46:47 -0800 To: Walter.J.Glance@jpl.nasa.gov, William.B.Banerdt@jpl.nasa.gov, john.l.callas@jpl.nasa.gov, Timothy.J.Parker@jpl.nasa.gov, Aseel.Anabtawi@jpl.nasa.gov, Sami.W.Asmar@jpl.nasa.gov, rspringe@jpl.nasa.gov, Daniel Winterhalter , Mike Malin , Elsa Jensen , Greg Mehall , Kelly Bender , kim.murray@asu.edu, Peggy Jester , Jeff Schott , Monte Kaelberer , Dave Curtis , Rick Sterling , Dick Simpson , monte.kaelberer@gsfc.nasa.gov, zuber@tharsis.gsfc.nasa.gov, aalbee@cco.caltech.edu, tthorpe@jpl.nasa.gov From: Gene Brower Subject: Query Problem Update Cc: Michael.P.Tankenson@jpl.nasa.gov Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" ; format="flowed" Content-Length: 933 Status: O ALL: This is the latest information passed to me by the folks working this problem. We expect to have the SOPC remote query problems resolved by end of day. The problem appears to be in the MGS CDR-TDS hardware, in particular the network interface board. We don't entirely understand how or where the data is getting corrupted in the NIB-NASCOM interface. However, we do know that all other TDS servers are accessible from all remote SOPC sites. We are in the process of setting up a new MGS CDR TDS on another server and then Tom Boreham will continue to investigate the issues with the problem hardware. The new TDS should be ready by end of day. We will send a follow up message to the project when it is ready. Thanks to the comm engineers and the TC&DM engineers for helping to resolve this failure quickly. No data was lost and the SOPCs had a workaround in place, although it was somewhat arduous. -Gene -------------------------------------------------------------------------- From joe@magellan.stanford.edu Tue Nov 21 09:23 PST 2000 Received: from nova.Stanford.EDU (nova [171.64.90.123]) by magellan.stanford.edu (8.9.3/8.9.3) with ESMTP id JAA28668 for ;
