During the NADIR test, the MOT is turned off until a minute after egress. 1535i 055/23:45:00 DSS65 One-way ingress during the NADIR test day. It was actually before DSS 65 BOT. The signal wandered into the passband at the beginning (probably antenna moving to point. ) Noticed too late that attenuators were too high. Probably very low elev. angle. 1536e, 1536i, 1537e, 1537i, 1538e All lost due to NADIR 1538i 056/05:39:00 DSS65 Another one-way ingress 1539e, 1539i, 1540e, 1540i, 1541e All lost due to NADIR test. 1541i 056/11:32:00 DSS25 One-way ingress 1542e, 1542i, 1543e, 1543i, 1544e All lost due to NADIR test. 1544i 056/17:19:00 DSS45 Two-way ingress -- back to normal ABX-TMO operations. 1552i through 1554e Lost due to DSN tracking gap - Y2k testing at Goldstone. 1554i 057/12:55:00 DSS45 Back to normal ABX-TMO operations. 1555 057/13:45:00 Instrument turn on We should be able to collect occultation data normally through this. 1560 057/23:30 Will be the first NADIR orbit During the MOC Calibration, we will be able to collect very little data. Because of the abrupt change in plans for the sequence, we weren't sure whether telemetry would be on or off. Attenuation was set for the telemetry off case rather than saturate the A/Ds. For an egress, there is little point in fixing attenuation after you see that it is too high. Instead it began on 2/24 with orbit 1532 (055-16:43:00 UTC ERT). The test was aborted after two orbits of NADIR pointing. Some spacecraft parameters have to be updated, and then the NADIR test will be conducted again -- probably over the weekend. In the meantime, whenever the spacecraft is not doing NADIR testing, it will be using the gravity calibration sequence, and we will collect data. The MOC Calibration is still scheduled to begin on Monday.
