We watched the Ka-band signal with the DSP. The predicts were not good enough that we could keep the signal in the 2k filter bandwidth, so we went to the 20k filter and 50k sps (for most of the evening anyway). The 50k sps data rate cannot be sent back in real time, so we will be receiving tapes with the data. I am out sick today, but I will be checking voicemail and e-mail if you have any questions. The HGA deployment and calibration both went very well. We are now using a fully deployed HGA. Autotracking tests and MSHA (horizon sensor) tests will be conducted later this week. -Trish -------------------------------------- Date: 3/30/99 3:25 AM From: Patricia Priest 264-859 MGS Occultation Log Sheet Operator: Trish Spacecraft: 94 Year: 1999 DOY: 089 DSS: 25 Precal: 0500 BOT: 0600 EOT: 1415 OWLT: 00:05:37 Number of ingresses and/or egresses during this pass: 3, HGA calibration DSP (if at SPC 40): Set Tape Config.: No Set DSP Config.: (HEF or BWG) Set Predicts Config.: (Franz code) see below Set POCA Config.: 0 Set RIV Config.: -3750 Hz Set Attenuation: Set RSSD Config.: 5000, 12bit/1signal,XR Set GCF Config.: 75,000; record only;transmit only;5;8;enable;XR;8;enable Set Run Config.: (see record times) CONSCAN off? off Subreflector Fixed? no Weather: LMC Log: SPK: spk_m_990328_OD0237-0239_0972_V1.BSP OPTG: optg_m_990328_OD0237-0239_0972_V1 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Note: If you record ingress and egress separately fill out a separate set of information for each.
