I have already done some of the weekend scripting, but attenuation levels would have to be monitored for each station. I will also have to make sure that I am notified the minute we go back to the HGA. The ACE just told the station that there would be no Radio Science for the DSS65 pass. The DSP is in the link in case they want us to look at something. > This might be a chance to catch up on "other life" > activities. Before you get your hopes up, however, > I'll discuss this with Len and Dave. I am planning on going to a Grand Prix race (cars) tomorrow in Long Beach. Chances are that recovery will not be before the end of the weekend. I really need to find the Contingency mode sequence block in order to see if the transmitter is even on for the occultation period. It may be turned off before egress and stay off until after ingress like it did during the MOC Cal. First, though, I have to get lunch before the cafeteria closes. I'll be back soon. -Trish -------------------------------------------------------------------------- From rsimpson Fri Apr 16 13:35:02 1999 Received: (from rsimpson@localhost) by magellan.Stanford.EDU (8.8.5/8.8.3) id NAA11335; Fri, 16 Apr 1999 13:35:00 -0700 (PDT) Date: Fri, 16 Apr 1999 13:35:00 -0700 (PDT) From: Dick Simpson 723-3525 Message-Id: <199904162035.NAA11335@magellan.Stanford.EDU> To: trish@godzilla.jpl.nasa.gov Subject: Re: Contingency Mode Cc: hinson@nimbus.Stanford.EDU, joe@neptune.Stanford.EDU, len@nova.Stanford.EDU, rsimpson Content-Length: 881 Trish: Dave isn't overly excited about LGT atmospheric profiles. He doesn't think occultation radii would be particularly useful. Len thinks there might be some information about the ionosphere (which doesn't require the same spatial resolution). So the current recommendation from here (and subject to the operational constraints you already know about) is to set up and run the remote ops but not to spend much time monitoring them or worrying about lost or late data. We will collect whatever we find in the query server and add it to the colection with an asterisk. Your primary attention might be directed toward monitoring the recovery and detecting (hopefully) return to HGA operations so we don't lose any more of the high quality data than necessary. Len will sit in on the 3 PM telecon/meeting. If our thoughts change, we will let you know.
