I faxed the handouts to you a few minutes ago. Three options were discussed for returning to Mapping: 1. Fixed HGA Mission only 2. Nominal Mapping when the HGA AZ angles are above 41 degrees. This would be from May 6 '99 to Feb. 7 '00. Fixed HGA Mission after Feb. 7 '00. 3. Same as option 2 except that between Sept. '00 and the end of mission the spacecraft could be placed in a 2PM-type configuration and perform nominal Mapping. It was unanimous to get back to nominal Mapping as soon as possible (May 6 or 7). That will be in time for most of the campaign. Beginning April 29th, we will do a week or so of fixed HGA Mapping as we did in March. Also, the OTM is now scheduled for M The decision as to what will happen after Feb. 7, 2000, has been deferred until a later time. The spacecraft team will be completing two more gimbal tests today and tomorrow. One is an elevation gimbal test to make sure that the gimbal still has the full range of motion. All indications to this point are that the elevation gimbal is fine. The idea of yawing the spacecraft a few degrees was also mentioned. Unfortunately for our gimbal constraint problem, they do not need to yaw the spacecraft in the May 21 - July 21, 1999, time period. We will still have to ask for that separately. During the fixed HGA periods, there will be tracking coverage for 3 orbits per day. Please let me know if you have any questions. I will be either in my office or at 3-0666 all day. -Trish -------------------------------------------------------------------------- From len.tyler@stanford.edu Fri Apr 23 13:32:48 1999 Received: from nova.Stanford.EDU (nova.Stanford.EDU [36.10.0.123]) by magellan.Stanford.EDU (8.8.5/8.8.3) with ESMTP id NAA16497 for ; Fri, 23 Apr 1999 13:32:48 -0700 (PDT) Received: from [171.66.164.10] (sunet-s5as03-1-dynamic-89.Stanford.EDU [171.66.165.89]) by nova.Stanford.EDU (8.8.8/8.8.8) with ESMTP id NAA19201; Fri, 23 Apr 1999 13:32:43 -0700 (PDT) X-Sender: len@nova.stanford.edu Message-Id: Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" Date: Fri, 23 Apr 1999 13:32:31 -0700 To: hinson@nova.Stanford.EDU, rsimpson@nova.Stanford.EDU, joe@nova.Stanford.EDU, frankb@nova.Stanford.EDU, ahmad@nova.Stanford.EDU, karayel@nova.Stanford.EDU, len.tyler@stanford.edu, stoumpis@leland.stanford.edu From: len tyler Subject: HGA decision Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit X-MIME-Autoconverted: from quoted-printable to 8bit by magellan.Stanford.EDU id NAA16497 Content-Length: 881 Status: O This morning's MGS project meeting resulted in a decision to return to mapping in the normal HGA mode about 5/6-7/99. It ran > for 112 s, then quit with no signal seen at that point. They were doing testing during this pass. 561i did not happen one-way because the station did not turn the transmitter off on time. There wasn't time to switch to two-way predicts for the measurement, so I just idled the DSP. (They were having problems with the command system while they were trying to do the elevation gimbal test.) During that pass, I collected about 30 minutes of one-way (no occultation) between 21:34 and 22:04. I thought that Joe might like that. Also, there are about 20 minutes of noise for you between 23:28 and 23:51. That was when they did manage to do the elevation gimbal test. Finally, the baseline for 562i should be very long (after the gimbal test.) -Trish -------------------------------------------------------------------------- From trish@godzilla.jpl.nasa.gov Mon Apr 26 13:44:29 1999 Received: from godzilla.jpl.nasa.gov (godzilla.jpl.nasa.gov [137.78.177.120]) by magellan.Stanford.EDU (8.8.5/8.8.3) with ESMTP id NAA19805 for ; Mon, 26 Apr 1999 13:44:29 -0700 (PDT) Received: from rodan.jpl.nasa.gov (rodan.jpl.nasa.gov [137.78.177.110]) by godzilla.jpl.nasa.gov (8.9.3/8.9.3) with ESMTP id NAA26140 for ; Mon, 26 Apr 1999 13:43:36 -0700 (PDT) Received: from 137.78.177.117 (trish-mac.jpl.nasa.gov [137.78.177.117]) by rodan.jpl.nasa.gov (8.9.3/8.9.3) with SMTP id NAA04739 for ; Mon, 26 Apr 1999 13:44:25 -0700 (PDT) Message-Id: <199904262044.NAA04739@rodan.jpl.nasa.gov> Date: 26 Apr 99 13:48:32 -0700 From: Trish Priest Subject: DSS 54 DOY 113-114 To: Richard Simpson X-Mailer: QuickMail Pro 1.5.4 (Mac) X-Priority: 3 Reply-To: Trish Priest MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-Ascii" Content-Length: 150 Status: RO According to the monitor data, CONSCAN was off unless they switched it on for only part of the tracking pass (which they don't usually do). -Trish -------------------------------------------------------------------------- From joe@nova.Stanford.EDU Mon May 10 11:01:15 1999 Received: from nova.Stanford.EDU (nova.Stanford.EDU [36.10.0.123]) by magellan.Stanford.EDU (8.8.5/8.8.3) with ESMTP id LAA25290 for ; Mon, 10 May 1999 11:01:15 -0700 (PDT) Received: from neptune.Stanford.EDU (neptune.stanford.edu [36.10.0.149]) by nova.Stanford.EDU (8.8.8/8.8.8) with ESMTP id LAA22012; Mon, 10 May 1999 11:01:15 -0700 (PDT) Received: (from joe@localhost) by neptune.Stanford.EDU (8.8.5/8.8.3) id LAA23593; Mon, 10 May 1999 11:00:04 -0700 (PDT) Message-ID: X-Mailer: XFMail 1.2 [p0] on Solaris X-Priority: 3 (Normal) Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit MIME-Version: 1.0 Resent-Date: Mon, 10 May 1999 10:59:08 -0700 (PDT) Resent-Message-Id: Resent-From: Joe Twicken Resent-To: Joe Twicken 723-3597 Date: Mon, 10 May 1999 11:00:04 -0700 (PDT) Sender: joe@neptune.Stanford.EDU From: Joe Twicken To: hinson@nova.Stanford.EDU, rsimpson@nova.Stanford.EDU, joe@nova.Stanford.EDU Subject: RE: ODR Notice: /users/z12/procODR/91280017 Content-Length: 998 Status: RO (1) There was no HGA motion correction for these recordings (2) All recordings *were* processed to completion, and Dave should retrieve profiles from all of them On 08-May-99 Joe Twicken 723-3597 wrote: > 91130912.ODR p 45XRXER1R201 45XRXEC1XX01 45XR1EF1S101 45XR1ES1T101 > 45XR1ES1T201 45XR1ES1T301 45XR1ES1T401 45XR1ES1T501 > 91131307.ODR p 45XRXER1R201 45XRXEC1XX01 45XR1EF1S101 45XR1ES1T101 > 45XR1ES1T201 45XR1ES1T301 45XR1ES1T401 45XR1ES1T501 > 91131424.ODR f > 91131505.ODR p 45XRXER1R201 45XRXEC1XX01 45XR1EF1S101 45XR1ES1T101 > 45XR1ES1T201 45XR1ES1T301 45XR1ES1T401 45XR1ES1T501 > 91131621.ODR f > 91131702.ODR p 45XRXER1R201 45XRXEC1XX01 45XR1EF1S101 45XR1ES1T101 > 45XR1ES1T201 45XR1ES1T301 45XR1ES1T401 45XR1ES1T501 > 91132058.ODR p 54XRXER1R201 54XRXEC1XX01 54XR1EF1S101 54XR1ES1T101 > 54XR1ES1T201 54XR1ES1T301 54XR1ES1T401 54XR1ES1T501 > 91132256.ODR p 54XRXER1R201 54XRXEC1XX01 54XR1EF1S101 54XR1ES1T101 > 54XR1ES1T201 54XR1ES1T301 54XR1ES1T401 54XR1ES1T501 > 91132327.ODR f
