No apparent reason. The following were lost because the DSP was not in the link. 1460e 34 1999/187-08:03:00 1461e 34 1999/187-10:01:00 1462e 34 1999/187-11:58:00 1463e 34 1999/187-13:56:00 The station personnel were use to seeing the Radio Science setup for each occultation measurement. Since the occutlations are no longer TLM off or subreflector fixed, the stations thought that we were no longer collecting data. That is why they left the DSP out of the link. Since the passes were unattended, there wasn't anyone to ask. They should all have the idea by now. The DSP is scheduled for all the passes through August. The only exception to that last statement is DSS 42. There is some problem scheduling the DSP for DSS 42. (Up until the last version of the 8-week schedule, there didn't seem to be a problem, so I am a bit confused.) The issue is being worked. We may not be able to collect data from the DSS 42 pass tonight, though. As for noisy carrier levels at the beginning of DSS 54 passes, SPC 60 stations start tracking at very low elevation angles. That may be the problem. I don't think that explanation works for DSS 15, though. About the increasing signal level: The spacecraft isn't doing anything in the egress record period that should cause an increased signal level. Ranging happens after the two-way acquisition. The telemetry rate changes during the record period, but the mod index does not change. The transmitter doesn't turn on until the HGA rewind is complete. The subreflector is no longer being fixed. I'll keep looking. -Trish
