Miscellaneous
=============

     The new SOPC is up; network connections to JPL and Stanford work.  But
none of the old peripherals were carried over, and some software is missing.
In particular, we have no 8 mm tape drive on the new system so reloading user
files and data from backup tapes made before the upgrade has been extremely
difficult.  Further, the available disk space has been reduced from 15 GB to
4 GB (half of which has already been taken by system and SFOC files, and
another 1 GB of which will be required for user source and executables),
making practical management of data next to impossible.  There is no F77
compiler, no NAIF software, and no MATLAB software; MATLAB is our
responsibility, but we need all three before we can resume normal operations.

     As was the case yesterday, we have been unable to collect and process
all of our usual files.  Some files were collected, but could not be run
through our automatic renaming and labeling software; those are denoted by
"N/A" in the lists below.  In those cases we can carry out some
manual processing and would be willing to do so if users need them quickly.
Otherwise, they will be held and passed through regular processing as soon
as the SOPC upgrade is completed.  Files with "Name on SOPC" filled in
should be available from our magellan.stanford.edu server as usual.
