Miscellaneous
=============

     HEA8148A.TXT was mistakenly distributed as an earlier version of this
health report.

     We are making progress in resolving problems associated with the SOPC
upgrade.  JPL will be loading additional software over the weekend, and
new hardware (cables/converters so that the old 8 mm tape drive can be
connected, and a new disk) is promised by early next week.

     We have been able to port software so that renaming and labeling of
Ancillary Files is now possible on our magellan server.  By next week, when
NAIF software is restored to the SOPC, we should be able to resume our
normal handling of these data.  The files below represent the backlogged
ancillary data; they will be copied to our magellan server shortly.


Engineering Data
================

     We have successfully queried for spacecraft engineering and DSN monitor
data.  But CPT, CCL, and TDL Sun binary files are incompatible with Solaris
versions of QUERY2PLOT (e.g., DMD).  We are investigating.  In the meantime,
we are unable to report on instrument health.

     Queries were successful through Mgs_MASTER_QueryServer.  Attempts to
connect with Mgs_SCT_QueryServer, an alternate machine recommended for GDS
testing because it has already been upgraded to Solaris, have been
unsuccessful.  SA Michael Scharf suspects our JPL-side router limits SOPC
connectivity to a small number of machines at JPL; Mgs_SCT is in Denver.
