We have advised JPL System Administrators of the problem, but plan to seek other relief -- probably by off-loading quick-look processing from the SOPC. MATLAB generation of quick-look plots typically takes 1-3 hrs per occultation, a task that should require 5 minutes or less. In the course of providing more information to SA's on our continuing CD writer problems we have learned (1) that SA's do not have access to the ProblemReporting system, so cannot get copies of ISAs we submit on system problems; and (2) that the CD writing software is not supported on Ultra-5 platforms by the vendor (GEAR). Apparently JPL system developers knew about (2) before the SOPCs were upgraded, but decided to go ahead anyway.
