Quick-look processing on magellan now takes about 90 seconds per occultation whereas it was requiring as much as 3 hours (wall clock time) on mgrs. The SOPC is now limited to queries for engineering, monitor, and open-loop radio science data; processing and plotting of engineering and monitor data; and writing CDs. Joe Twicken has re-examined "steered" data and confirms presence of a "sawtooth" anomaly beginning with a POCA ramp-rate change at 12:55:39. The leading edge of the sawtooth is about 1.8 seconds (approximately the amount by which samples should be out of synchronization); the sawtooth amplitude is about 300 milliHertz. Data from 1998/339-18:41:00 are from a second query. In the first we received duplicate/interleaved records, apparently from another DSP running simultaneously. We have narrowed the query by requiring that the DSS be stated explicitly in our script. This not only cleared the problem for the 339 data, but also allowed us to obtain good data from runs in 343-344 that suffered from the same problem. Data from DSS 24 were collected using equipment that was configured for Lunar Prospector; there is no signal in the passband. DSS 25 had been scheduled but was "red"; DSS 24 was a last- minute substitution. Data from the ingress at about 1998/343-19:00:00 were not captured because of a conflicting spacecraft trajectory maneuver. Carrier in data starting 1998/343-20:07:00 is at the low extreme of the filter bandpass; it drifts to even lower frequencies before ingress. Software does not automatically locate the carrier; the SNR estimate was made by eye from low-resolution spectra. Tuning error likely results from the maneuver an hour earlier. Noise baseline in data starting 1998/343-23:21:00 rises irregularly by about 1 dB over about 5 minutes after ingress. Ingress and egress at approximately 1998/344-04:00:00 and 05:00:00 were lost because the DSP at SPC 60 was "red". The following ingress at approximately 08:10:00 was also lost for the same reason. The egress at 1998/344-09:29:00 was partially captured at DSS 15 (a late substitution) but the event itself seems to be obscured by a sudden 2 dB increase in background noise level.
