The 100 MHz reference frequency problem was fixed between the last two passes at DSS 25. -Trish -------------------------------------- Date: 3/5/98 12:57 PM From: Salvatore F Abbate Sal, We also had noticed intermittent increases in the phase noise. The RID X81 frequency multiplier was replaced on 2/19/98 in an effort to isolate the cause. The problem persisted. An RID 5V power supply was replaced on 2/24/98 due to excess ripple and noise. On 2/25/98, we identified an intermittent problem with the FTS 100 MHz reference to DSS25 and swapped the source from FTS-100A00J541 to FTS-100A00J04 to correct the problem. Additional work on the FTS was done on 3/3/98. Among other problems found, a loose connection to FTS-100A00J541 was tightened and the FTS 100 MHz reference to DSS25 was returned to FTS-100A00J541 port. You might speak with Sig Walmer if you want more details on the FTS work.
