Therefore, the spacecraft will be off-Earth point during egress. This will happen for approximately one week -- until the next reset meeting. At that time, the MOLA ISH may be able to move completely within the occultation, leaving ingress and egress free for data collection. The predicts were off for some reason. I used the station predicts for Occ. 199i and saw a signal. I noted the predicted sky frequency from the station predicts and compared them to our own predicts from Joe's software. There was only a 5 Hz difference, so ours would have worked as well. The station was also having problems with predicts after occultation 198. All of these occultations used the same spk file. If the dynamic pressure of the atmosphere is not what they expect, the timing and the predicted frequency could be wrong. If, on subsequent orbits, the dynamic pressure is wrong in the opposite direction, then the predicts could be correct again. For occultation 198, the expected occultation time was much farther from predict than it was for occultation 199. If the timing errors stay within the 240 second requirement, then the signal should still be within the passband. I will look into this further. They may be accepting a larger timing error due to Thanksgiving. This anomaly was encountered (at DSS-65 only) from DOY 324 (20 November) to DOY 337 (03 December) and spanned eight ATDFs. All of the ATDFs (files 98325T326, 98326T327, 98327T329, 98328T330, 98332T333, 98333T334, 98334T335, and 98335T337) have been corrected, and are available [via OSCAR2] upon request to RMDC. An ODF, 98325O335.RMP, which contains only the corrected ramps (for merging with previously delivered files) has now been placed in NAVOPS$DISK:[NST.SC94] on both OSCAR and OSCAR2.
