There were problems because the occultation occurs during a handover between 34 and 45 in Canberra. The station personnel have to switch the DSP between the two links. In this process, we lost the NOCC displays. I think that the signal was clipping. Egress: A vast audience reported that they might have seen a small signal. The attenuation was changed because clipping was confirmed. (We had NOCC displays for egress.) Occ. 327i/e The transmitter at SPC 65 went red at the beginning of track, so Trina took advantage of the opportunity for extra one-way. You have long baselines for ingress and egress. Occ. 328e A smaller signal was present for a few minutes before the full signal returned. Also, as has been the case after most maneuvers, we could not find the egress signal. The predicts were off. Occ. 242, Orbit 815 Due to many compounded errors, ingress was lost (340-04:04 UTC). Egress was collected without incident. Also, this was at DSS 65, and the signal looked very strong. I had to increase the attenuation values (before recording started.) I doubt that this will have the low signal level problem. I collected some extra two-way and one-way data from the DSS 65 pass as well. There is two-way data from 340/05:45:00 to 06:00:00, and one-way from 340/06:03:25 to 06:07:00. We are interested in knowing whether the signal level changes between the two-way and one-way. There is also an overlap between DSS 65 and DSS 15 for egress 243. From the information I can access at home, it appears that after record 1662 (about 18:47:32) records from this occultation were interleaved with records from this or another occultation with record numbers starting from #1. That is, the record numbers in the ODS are 1660 1661 1662 1 1663 2 1664 3 ... I don;t have the time or resources to follow up on this right now. I'm just hoping it doesn't happen again. I think my ODS to ODR converter tried to deal with this, but I'm not sure how. After reporting several hundred record sequence problems, it reported a logical EOF and threw away about half of the remaining ODS bytes. PREPMO then noticed "missing" records and began to fill. The first time I tried to get this file, it had filled 885,540 records and was still going when I killed it. I resubmitted the query, and everything happened the same way. So the problem lies with the data in Mgs_CDR_QueryServer and wasn't just a fluke of one query. I'm leaving the ODR translation in our collection; it's 83391841.ODR. But I doubt we'll be able to do anything with it. And we probably shouldn't put it in the archive.
