The INDEX directory contains index tables, INDEX.TAB and BRINDEX.TAB, 
that list every data product in the archive. The index tables are 
accompanied by PDS labels, INDEX.LBL and BRINDEX.LBL, that describe 
the format of the tables.

The index tables are ASCII text files. Each line (record) in a table
contains information about a data product in the archive. The record
includes the path and file name of the PDS label that describes the
data product. 

Each line in INDEX.TAB and BRINDEX.TAB consists of a set of 
fixed-length fields delimited by commas. INDEX.LBL and BRINDEX.LBL 
tell the start byte, number of bytes, and data type of each field.
