RMI_MOSAICS - Directory containing ChemCam RMI mosaics of ChemCam Targets. The ChemCam RMI mosaics are an assemblage of single RMI images into mosaics, one for each target. The RMI images are stitched in chronological order using image registration. LIBS or passive spectroscopy analysis performed in between acquisition of images are located by red reticle annotations, and numbered in chronological order. These annotated locations are determined based on the rover mast angles measured during acquisition. Other information are provided on the image, in particular distance and scale estimated using the motor step in the ChemCam focusing mechanism. RMI_CONTOUR_IN_MCAM_IMAGES - Directory containing RMI mosaics registered onto the MastCam Image. The ChemCam RMI mosaic contour images consist of MastCam M100 images documenting the same target with a red contour annotation to highlight the location of the ChemCam RMI mosaic. The RMI mosaic is registered onto the MastCam image using a key-point image registration algorithm to estimate automatically the geometric transformation between the two images, so the precise contour of the RMI mosaic is drawn. In case key-point registration fails, the approximate location of the target is shown with a red circle, based on a model using the mast angles measured during image acquisition. In addition, a scale is provided using the distance estimated by the motor step in the ChemCam focusing mechanism. This scale applies only to the center of the RMI mosaic highlighted by the red contour, or to the approximate location in the red circle. The EXTRAs directory formerly contained concatenated MOC data. These files have been revised with Release 9 and moved to the directory DATA/MOC.
