Files include spacecraft and planetary ephemerides (SPK files), instrument mounting information (IK files), attitude data for spacecraft (CK files), and histories of events (EK files). NAIF has compressed tar files that contain the Toolkit software for various operating systems. Executables for specific programs are also available. To obtain your copy of the software, you should follow the instructions below. Differences among computers may necessitate adjustments in the procedure. Documentation that accompanies the Toolkit describes formats of the files. In the DOCUMENT directory of this archive volume see also TK_DESCR.TXT and TK_INSTL.TXT, short descriptions of the Toolkit organization and installation. 1. At the next level you choose between executables packages The executables are individual programs or user guides. The packages are the entire Toolkit as a compressed tar file, or several files with descriptive information (including a README file). 5. Follow instructions in the README file to install the software.
