| The left image shows the Sandy Flats site before the third biology sample was acquired (VL1 image 11B169/079). Several trenches from previous sampling activities can be seen in the image. The right image shows the trench that resulted from acquiring the third biology sample (VL1 image 11B180/091). The new trench is located at the lower right in the image. Note that the two images show approximately the same area. However, they were acquired at different times of day so that the illumination directions are different. | |
