The EXTRAS directory of a PDS archive contains supplementary material that
may be of interest to users of the archive, but that is not essential to 
the understanding of the data.

In the Viking Lander 2 Seismic Experiment archive, the EXTRAS directory 
contains the following files.

extrinfo.txt - the file you are reading.

vl2_samplingarm_moore_usgs_combined.txt - a table of the principal 
   episodes of Viking Sampler arm operation on Viking Lander 2, with the 
   aim of relating signatures in other instrumentation (e.g. seismometer, 
   meteorology) with mechanical disturbances associated with arm operations.

vl2_samplingarm_explanation.txt - an explanation of the contents of 
   vl2_samplingarm_moore_usgs_combined.txt.
   
example_plotting_r_script.txt - an example of a script to plot the
   Viking Lander 2 seismic data, using the 'R' freeware scripting language
   (https://www.r-project.org/).
