CThe XG System software comprises a database retrieval and analysis Kpackage. This software package supplies the research scientist with a toolKwith which to retrieve and analyze data from three Mars investigations, theOViking Infrared Thermal Mapper (IRTM), the Viking Mars Atmospheric Water (MAWD)Ndetector, and the Mariner 9 Infrared Radiometer (IRR), referred to in AppendixKA, B, and C of the SRD. The three databases are organized such that the XGMSystem software will rapidly access data which has been selected according toEthe user's constraints. The XG System software package uses the userLinterface TAE (Transportable Applications Executive) providing the user withHa menu driven interface and command mode package. Additional Help menusGprovide the uninitiated user with the information necessary to perform"analysis of the selected database.
