MSL: ChemCam

April 10, 2013. ChemCam RDR data from sols 10-89 are released.

March 20, 2013. The release of ChemCam derived (RDR) data from sols 10-89 has been delayed. The data will be posted here as soon as they become available to PDS.

March 8, 2013. The MSL EDR Archive Volume Software Interface Specification has been cleared and is now posted on this site.

March 5, 2013. The MSL Camera and LIBS EDR/RDR Software Interface Specification has been cleared and is now posted on this site.

February 27, 2013. MSL Release 1 includes ChemCam raw (EDR) data from sols 10-89. Data from sols 0-9 are being reprocessed. They will be included in Release 2, May 30, 2013.

ChemCam combines the LIBS (Laser Induced Breakdown Spectrometer) and the RMI (Remote Micro-Imager) to analyze the elemental composition of laser-vaporized materials from the surface of Martian rocks and soils. ChemCam data sets are produced by the ChemCam team at Los Alamos National Laboratory and the Centre National D'Etudes Spatiales (CESR), Toulouse, France.
