Commercial Lunar Payload Services (CLPS)

September 27, 2024. Intuitive Machines IM-1 (CLPS TO2-IM) data are released*.

*Note: TO-2IM ROLSES (at the PDS PPI Node) and SCALPSS (at the PDS CIS node) data are still undergoing peer review and will be available online at a later date.

Through the Commercial Lunar Payload Services (CLPS) initiative, NASA is working with several American companies to deliver science experiments and technology demonstrations to the surface of the Moon. Individual NASA CLPS task order awards to US companies cover end-to-end delivery services for NASA sponsored instruments, including payload integration, mission operations, launch from Earth, and either landing on the surface of the Moon or being inserted in lunar orbit. The NASA sponsored instruments flying aboard CLPS landers are selected to advance capabilities for science, exploration or commercial development of the Moon, to scientifically study Earth’s nearest neighbor under the Artemis approach, and to test technologies to support human exploration to the Moon. In addition to the NASA payloads aboard, companies are also encouraged to fly their own instruments, such as lander cameras, as well as commercial payloads.

See the complete release schedule below.
