CheMin (Chemistry and Mineralogy)

MSL Release 40 includes new CheMin raw (EDR) data from
sols 4489 – 4612, March 22 – July 28, 2025. Release
of CheMin derived (RDR) data is delayed.

CheMin identifies and measures the abundance of
various minerals on Mars using X-ray diffraction. CheMin
analyzes powdered rock samples generated by the rover's
drill and soil samples collected by the rover's scoop.
CheMin data sets are produced by the CheMin Team at NASA
Ames Reseach Center.
