MESSENGER: NS
Derived
Data Records
The MESSENGER NS Derived Data Records (DDRs) consist of neutron count rate
(NCR) and neutron composition (NCP) data. The NCR data products contain net
neutron count rates from the LG1, LG2, and BP sensors and uncertainties from
each of these sensors. The NCP data product contains fast and epithermal count
rates as a function of latitude, along with simulated count rates for the
cases of no hydrogen and for a thick layer of 100 wt. percent water ice in all
radar bright regions. Each DDR is organized as an ASCII table, along with a
detached ASCII text PDS label file. The NCR files are grouped in directories by Earth year and
month.
The NS DDRs are stored along with the
NS Calibrated Data Records (CDRs) on PDS
volume MESSNS_2101. Please see below for
direct access to the volume. Only
directories pertaining to the DDRs are
listed below.
Alternatively, to search the archive for
data that meet particular criteria, e.g.
time and location, use the
Mercury Orbital Data Explorer (ODE).
